What a day, I remember when I dreaded Mondays because it meant the beginning of a new work week, trying to figure out what I was going to wear into the office and just the thought that I had to do this same routine 4 more times consecutively was enough to just upset and depress me. Nowadays I cherish Mondays because that means my 2 older kids go to preschool and I get to enjoy a cup of coffe, listen to the morning news and wash, tone and moisturize my face before it's even 12 noon. I'm sure many of you have been in my shoes, well those of you who work outside of the home maybe don't love Mondays as much but I know that work at home and stay at home moms can definitely empathize. It's not that we love our kids any less but we need our time to just do adult things even as simple as enjoying a nice cup of coffee. I'm not a big TV person, but nowadays I find myself leaving it on past GMA just so the house won't seem as quiet, speaking of which I caught a part of Martha Stewart and I must admit although I'm not a big fan of the lady, she's got some great guests that have really quick and simple dinner meals.
I started today saying I would exercise, I would eat better, I would approach things differently, but I did none that I said I would. Instead I savored my time, indulged and relaxed. Oh well, the day's over, and although the kids behaved once they came home, within 2 minutes of picking them the first meltdown broke out. Oh well if you can't fight them...join them and so I did!

Thank Goodness It's Friday
WHAT A DAY!!! So how many of us have woken up in the morning thinking "Thank goodness it's Friday" and within a few hours realize that it won't be as smooth sailing as we first thought. My day began at 4:30 am when I heard my youngest baby, Natalia, thru the baby monitor that is OF COURSE on my side of the bed. So I crawl out warm up the water mix the formula and with one eye open and the other one closed, I give her the bottle holding it up with a blanket so I may change her diaper in dim light. Heaven forbid I move her too much because that's doomsday for me as she will be up for another 3hrs or that my other 2 kids hear me, that will only lead to 3 kids being up at the crack of dawn and me wanting to just run out the door and scream. So it's not that bad afterall, she's done in 15minutes and I'm able to go underneath my warm cozy covers. Just when I was hitting REM sleep the sound of little footsteps heading in my direction is enough to realize that I could forget about enjoying more sweet sleep. Now they don't necessarily climb up on my side, but rather go to my hubby's side and make themselves at home. It was downhill from there, Priscilla started coughing, Brandon started whining, Natalia was fussing over the baby monitor, and I was getting annoyed. Well I might as well get up, it's now 6:30am, while I'm gathering up their school clothes they are both whining with their dad on how the toothpaste is not Sponge Bob and it's burning their mouth. After breaking up 3 fights and cleaning poopy butts they are off to school. Natalia is sleeping so I might as well enjoy my cup of coffee, I'm still in my pj's and my office work has started to pile up. Let's just say I did not have breakfast till 12pm, skipped lunch, left Brandon & Priscilla in aftercare did not cook dinner and instead ordered Pizza.
10:15pm is now the time, my eyes are closing, Natalia is just waking up from her very long afternoon-evening nap I'm dreading for what lies in the next few hours but I wouldn't change it for the world.
So, WELCOME everyone, moms, dads, aunts, sisters, grandmas...etc this is our life and although we don't accomplish all that we set out to do in the beginning of the day, it's not because we are lazy (husbands beware) but because there just are not enough hours in the day to do all that we want to do.
